Allwhite... i live here in Panam City FL and my dad has won two tickets to this weekends Talladega race...Man was i stoked, until i realized that Talladega Al from here in Panama is about 5-6 hrs away...An well that aint to bad cept for we have to take the Bronco. But the catch is that the Bronco has a 5.8 and C6...yes C6 aka no OD aka "this gonna suck"....Besides changin the oil n filter and flushin the radiator and the little normal checks(tire pressure, etc.).... Whats sumthin i can give this bronco to give me a little more confidence this bko is gonna survive this slaughter...Btw its got a 6" lift on 35's and 3.08's( <---LOL)
Or am i just gonna have to grab ahold of sumthin, bite my lip, and give it hell all the way there...

Total cost of gas there and back from my quackulations is lookin round $300

Just google maps both Panama City, Fl/ Talladega Al... you can see the trip distance from there.:toothless

This is my first Nascar race im going to so i dont want to miss it.

uhhh im not a big tranny guru but I'd recommend changing those 3.08s out ASAP. The C6 has a pretty long gear ratio, so I bet it loves those 35s with no 410s or something similar.

Yeaaa i kno i need them gears... but ima have to pay sumone to do it... When i do get gears im goin 4.56's... those 3.08's are pathetic... but its not somthin i can do within 3 days... race is just a couple of days away and regearing isnt really an option right now...

I understand how that is. Ill tell ya, I hate driving my Bronco on the freeways here in CA, It a bunch of nasty B**** who think the far right lane is for racing and weaving in between Semi's. I love the C6, just not on the freeway:banghead

Exactly...i hate it that my top speed is 83mph...hahahah...dont ask how i kno..Its fine even with those 3.08's round tound...But having the c6 for highway driving is suckage.... but tchnically if i got those 4.56 my top speed would be slower...but it would take alot less time gettin there and alot less strain..so i wouldnt mind sacrafcing thos few mph for years of life added to the motor and tranny. But drag racing my buddys chevy is fun till im topped out and hes humming right along past me cuz hes OD...lol..:whiteflag

i would suggest borrowing a buddies set of tires that have the same lug pattern (5 on 5.5) that can be quick and easy fix for the trip than you can go ahead and do the gears later. so its small tires with 6in lift but not waist as much money or sick truck but burn a whole through your wallet...

go rent a compct car from avis....19.00 a day. youl save gas money.........19.00 a day for 3 days $57.00.....gas 2 fill ups. 1 on the way and 1 to get home 120.00 your still ahead and no ware and tear on the bko.

haha. I know how this feels. I have 4.56s, but strangely enough, my top speed was over 90mph with stock 302efi and aod. How is that possible?

do the rental. if it breaks its their responsibility. talladega is a bitch to enter and leave with all the traffic. i did it about 5 years ago. not fun alot of idle time.

Talladega is a huge track. Where are your seats? And yeah, be prepared to sit in traffic.

Sweet, i didnt even think abour rentin a car...prolly end up doin that...

But on saturdie(truck race) i set in the new allison seats end of turn 2...then sundies race im on the first turn(end of the front stretch) and there like right on the track too.. its gonna be awsome...but see reason i wanted to take the bko cuz we have to sleep in it...hotel...lol thats a good one...plus sumtimes its nice in the bko...Just grab some pool floaties, blankets, tons of pillows...and im out in a second, plus we can use the heater when we need to...and its free lol...

For that matter rent a suv or a wagon, kick the seats down, lay your stuff out, plenty of leg room, tunes, a/c which you can use when your driving two miles an hour for 3 hours! I went to Laguna Seca one year & the place was so crowded they shut off the parking lots (parking hills & fields) & let them out one at a time. It took 10 1/2 hours to leave the lot. Good thing we still had beer in the cooler & steaks to barbaque! -Kevin-:beer
