I have a 1990 bronco 5.0, a few years ago I had my throttle cable replaced while replacing the heads, I didn't drive it much since then and now that I'm getting it river ready I noticed my pedal has 3/4" to 1" of play, I'm wondering if anyone knows how to take the slack out of it.?

Yo Jay,
As desertdog advised;
See Throttle cable mod? TRS

Also;
CHECK RETURN SPRING
  • Compress the spring at the throttle body end of the cable.
  • Observe the cable as it returns to the original position.
Does the spring stick or fail to return to the original position at a rapid rate?
YesNo
REPLACE as required. USE appropriate part. Cable is functioning properly.
