My first truck was an 84 Bronco that my dad gave to me and my brother. We beat it for a few years and I eventually owned another 84 and a 93. I got the fever again a couple of years ago and started looking for a quality Bronco to buy. I found this stock 85 XLT in Oregon a couple of months ago. Other than a leaking oil pan gasket, it's now up to specs for a PA inspection.

Wow I am so jealous Brother, that's my exact 2 tone color scheme but my wheels are silver, I have the wide diamond plate rear bumper and aluminum protective side molding but yours looks to be in "mint condition" AWESOME score, are those 4x4 hubs or cosmetic cover caps on the rear wheels.....lol lol...? :scratchhe

The rear bumper is easy to reset/adjust, pull it off and check the bolts and mounting brackets if anything is bent etc.....:doh0715:

For PASSING "any" state smog test read thru this thread by FSB member Sixlitre - I done failed my smog test (tears) just type this in the 'search" browser above and you'll be amazed at how simple it is to defeat the smognazibastards.....lol lol......pay close attention to the use of 91% Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol mixed in with the gasoline.....:rockon

I was the FSB lab rat in 2009, using the techniques suggested in that thread I have successfully PASSED both 2009 and 2011 California smog tests with flying colors with my new my 302/5.0 EFI long block I swapped in myself back in 2008, in 2007 had a dead #2 cylinder deemed "gross polluter" and jumped thru all kinds of hoops to keep it on the road but now it runs like a Swiss watch and I really enjoy it as a daily driver.

Things I have done, had the AOD rebuilt new in 2004 maybe has 15-18k on it, new 302 EFI engine in 2008 and recently 2011 replaced all the TRE, draglink dust boot covers with polyurethane Red, new tires, new shocks and just rebuilt both slip joint drive shafts, the Cardan knuckle is a "lovely" piece of work....lol lol...I mean there's tons of other things I have completed and still many projects to go....lol lol.....SO GET READY TO GET YOUR HANDS DIRTY!

My wife absolutely hates the red interior, but it will grow on her. Luckily in my county the emissions system only has to pass a visual test. I'll check out your link for build info. Thanks for the info and the welcome. Almost forgot, those are caps on the rear.

Nice, it's all good Brother and once you become familiar with your BKO and it's "quirks" they're really not that hard to work on if you've got the "willingness"..lol lol....time and tools and pay attention to things for sale and parting out here....I've made some terrific deals at very reasonable prices on hard to get "original OEM" parts, simple things like power window, power door lock elec. harness connectors, throttle body, rear speaker grills with working speakers, woodgrain radio dash bezel, pristine front chrome bumper with bumper pads and verticals, inside console with lock and key and so on so on........and they show up at your door......so for me FSB guys are great to deal with if you need anything.
