ok bare with me on this one, (lol) i am in the prosses of rebuilding another 302 for my bronco, and i was wondering if the timing cover from a 79 car 302 work on a late 80`s truck motor??? the reason i am asking is because the oil dip stick inserts in the timing cover, and i think that is so cool, now i know the water pumps flow in different direction from one another, plus with as shot as my wife is i think she would be able to check the oil easier this way...:rockon

be careful. I just tried to install a 94 or 95 timing cover from a mustang 302 motor on an 80 something EFI 302 truck and the water passage is different between the two. Not sure why but they were different.

It should work. Buy a gasket kit for the ap and see if it matches but I don't see why it wouldn't.
