Tonco is short for 'The Onco'. LOL, my passenger side fender badge is missing the Br so it reads ONCO. This may end up the longest build ever, but a journey of a 1000 miles starts with the first step. I found this rig on Craigslist in MO, and bought it the first day it was posted to the site. I traded a 2000 Dakota 4x4 straight up for it. It has new fenders and 1/4's, and the tub is OK shape. Motor is a 351M and runs nice but is low on power. PO put a Qudrajet on it, so I KNOW it needs to be tuned right; maybe flip it around for better hill climbs. It's an A/C truck with everything there, I just need to pony up and try charging it. Back window motor works, but the dash switch is toast and the rear key switch is MIA. My plan is to keep it as a backup to my 2006 Mustang GT and a DD in the winter. A 4 inch lift with extended RA, junk yard custom interior, lockers in F/R, new exhaust, tuck up the gas tank, and 35's is the plan. A full cage and tube bumpers with a winch will round out the mods. Found a local guy who has a barn full of parts, more on that to come once I see what they have. Last night, she had to much tequila, and her top flew off!!! Looks like the first time since it was back yard painted. Removed the top by myself; whew! So far I have replaced a break line, and the high pressure side PS hose. The PO had been driving it w/o PS for a long time, and now the steering shaft is shot, tons of wiggle in the rag joint and the knuckle. All the TRE and Ball joints are NEW, as are all the break pads! Shocks are junk, rides like the USSS Tonco!!

Thanks for all the compliments. Got soaked on Friday, tore the carpet out Saturday. Threw away everything but the rubber mat in the back , but peeled of the insulation on it as well. Good new is the rear bed is in great shape. Bad new is the front floor needs help. PO glassed over a huge hole on the drivers side.

What's a good metal to patch in the floors on the cheap?

I used 16 gauge on my floors and i was kind of hard to bend so 14g wound be even harder to bend if you have any bends to make. Just my 2 cents.
I agree 14 is pretty heavy.

When you said "junkyard custom interior," I thought you meant the PO installed a Porno Red interior.:crazy

So far, here is a list of crap I've replaced:
Carb, ignition module, Plugs, Wires, Cap, Rotor, Track Bar bushings (got the death wobble once!), Shocks, rear drive shaft rear u-joint, windshield, front pass side brake lines. Off to get a state inspection today so I can get it legal.

Update: Needs a cheapo exhaust fix to pass inspection; better than I had expected.

The exhaust pipe rusted in half under the hanger, so I sleeved it for about $9.00 Damn thing needs a bead of weld to seal right, I'm gonna try and sneak it past them; tiny leak still. The shop only wanted $30 pucks to make a new pipe, but I have other plans. I'm planning a custom exhaust setup but need headers and some cool tips, plus a pipe bender first. Once I get the bender, I can make a roll bar too!
