Hey guys I'm about to start building my Stroker 545 for my '89 Beast and I would like to get some input on what would be the best tranny setup for my application.

My goal is to put a 460 (Stroked out to 545) with ~600 hps and ~650 ft/lbs torq running on Rockwell 2.5 ton with 44" to 49" shoes.

Currently I have a C6 with a NP208 transfer case (not in the truck). I know most folks don't like chain driven transfer cases, so with that what would be the best setup?

I'm going to build a custom four link system, does anyone know a good shop in Houston that can help build the suspension or at least where I can rent someone who can do some serious welding?

Thanks for the info.

Best transmission? For the purpose it sounds like you're going to be using the truck with (mud), a big well built C6 ought to do you well.

What about the transfer case thats the main item I hear that will break due to stretching the chains inside the case.
