On a 94 its called a MLPS, and is found at about the mid point of the trans on the left side. It is a well known weak point on E4OD's.

What I would do in your case is to check for any codes before I do anything else.

Is your speedo working correctly?
Is the OD Off indicator light flashing at all?

There's a thread over in Emergency Help about this issue right now. I posted a diagnostic routine there, too. Again, sorry for the huge image. :D
