The transfer case on my 1988 5.0 liter automatic transmission bronco keeps jumping out of 2 wheel drive. When I put the truck in neutral, and manually use the knuckle to switch from 4h to 4l, and etc. it works fine. Until i hit about 45 on the highway in 2 wheel drive, when i start to slow down, you can hear a sort of like grinding within the transfer case, and when it is at a complete stop, it won't reverse, the gears grind hard especially when you put it back in park(the truck will still move fine when in drive, however.), you have to manually get under the truck and reset the gear from either switching to 4h or 4l then back to 2 wheel drive. The transfer case is a 1356 Borg Warner. What the hell's wrong with it?
