The only seal that looks new is the RTV between the case halves... which also looks like way too much... when you open it up I would look for RTV in the chains and sprockets, as well as stuck in bearings... none of the external seals look to have been replaced.

The tail shaft housing from your bronco will easily swap over to the one you bought so you don't have to worry about mechanical speedo. It's been a while since I tore into a transfer case, and to be honest there isn't a lot that can go wrong with them. definitely check the oil pump retainer and do the fix, it's almost certainly going to show wear. you'll also want to check the chain for slack..most of the time they're ok and then look around for any metal shavings in the case. good luck.

actually i took the motor off and looked at the shaft and they replaced it with national seal so they have been worked on

The transfer case to transmission seal hasn’t been replaced, nor the output shaft seals... I can clearly see in the pictures you provided where they have very old grease... also the sealant between the case halves should not be be visible... as it clearly is... hence I said I would definitely crack the case open to make sure no sealant has broken loose... if the sealant has broken loose it can get caught in the pump... which is why your case was more than likely gutted in the first place.

got it. I would have to see the two side by side, does the one in your truck still have the motor in it? If so, it seems to me like you should just be able to swap over the motor and tailshaft housing to the new case and call it a day..unless I'm missing something.
