I know how to hook up the diagnostic plugs. I did it and all I got was a solid CEL even without the key on. What am I doing wrong?

I had that problem a while back. Just started removing grounds, cleaning them, and putting them back. Fixed mine. worth a try

Thanks man. My CEL has gone off and truck has gone back to running smoothly. I think it was water in my gas. It happened right after a fuel stop. You could punch it and it just bogged and sputtered and had to be coaxed along. I let it idle a while when I got it home and then drove it again. Everything seems back to normal...:shrug
