I’m curious what this vacuum block did from the factory, I saw a thread about it going to the trans on a 460 and c6 setup but mine came with a 302 and AOD from the factory.

also wondering what the vacuum port below the map sensor on the possibly evaporator core box. It is sticking up.

That is the vacuum reservoir (Vacuum Tank) for the HVAC system.

That supplies vacuum to the entire HVAC system when the engine is under low vacuum/high load. That's why there is a check valve between manifold vacuum and the reservoir/HVAC system. When the knob is set to Off or Max AC vacuum is applied to the recirculation door to close it.

I have an 87 though so I have no knobs. Most of the controls are run by cable. It is also the same as an 86 controls so it has 4 levers instead of the normal 3. Everything works besides the outside air lever.

In that case that reservoir would be used only for the recirculation door operation.
