vacuum level measurement

After some research here, I made some measurement. I started at thermactor valves - removed rubber fittings and connected them to digital gauge (pink and yellow lines)
at 145 F (63 C) both had vacuum -5 kPa (0.725 psi)
at 210 F (99 C) it was the same
So, it looks like something is not OK
I continued at vacuum reservoir, inlet vacuum was over gauge range, but outlet vacum was about -8 kPa (1,16 psi)
It looks like reservoir is leaking, and small vacuum level at thermactor valves means that solenoids are not working?
Vacuum at egr valve was very little at idle, with revs up vacuum grow up to manifold vacuum level...

Yes your "coffee can" reserve tank is probably leaking. Naturally check all the vac lines too. Don't forget to check the vac lines under the dash.
At idle most EGR systems are off so low vacuum might be normal at the valve.

This vacuum reservoir serves only for thermactor solenoids or for egr as well ?

Vacuum Reservoir (VRESER); it stores excess vacuum to prevent rapid fluctuations and sudden drops in a vacuum signal, such as during acceleration. It services the EGR & Air Injection (AIR), Secondary Air Injection Systems
It prevents rapid fluctuations or sudden drops in a vacuum signal such as those seen during an acceleration period. When charged initially with 51-67 kPa (15-20 in-Hg) vacuum, vacuum loss shall not exceed 2 kPa (.5 in-Hg) in 60 seconds. If it does, replace the reservoir..."


EGR includes EVR (EGR)
AIR sys includes:
Thermactor Air Bypass (TAB) & Thermactor Air Diverter (TAD) Solenoids;

There is also a Vacuum Tank (plastic ball type) for the heater/air cond./defroster vac ckt; it's source is off the intake manifold vacuum "tree"

I saw a neat Chromed replacement at Advance Auto last year in the chrome dome section,, it was smaller but was under $10.00

Dorman has em for GM trucks and looks sim for about $8.00
