I recently bought an '84 with a 351w HO and a C6. The engine leaks oil terribly from the oil pan and front seal. I am planning on removing the engine and replacing the gaskets, timing chain, and oil pump. I’ve seen several threads pertaining to replacing the vacuum lines with silicone lines. Of course, these were all for 87+ broncos. My 84 has several lines running all over the intake. Is there a way to consolidate some of these? Or is it best just to replace them with the silicone lines?

Thanks
JR

I think the only change you can make to the older vac lines is to reroute the brake booster line, but search and check if it applies.

Other than that, yeah, just replace the lines one by one

I would replace any that are plastic. If yours are as brittle as they were on my 96 you probably have broken ones and don't even know it. Replacing is cheap insurance.

Thanks guys. Ford sure loved vacuum operated everything in the 80s.
