1986 Bronco vacuum lines

Ok, I searched, but all I come up with, here and online anywhere, are pics of the vacuum diagram under the hoods, and pics from the Chilton manual. Those do me no good in my situation...My sticker under the hood does not tell me where the vacuum lines actually go, and in the manual, it gives a pic of every one that doesn't have fuel injection. So....my problem is...I need a vacuum line schematic that is very detailed for a 1986 with a 302 and fuel injection.. I am in the middle of replacing my EGR tube, and after taking off the manifold, found out why I could never get it to run correctly...one of the vacuum lines that you can't see, is melted in half, and my PCV valve has nothing connected to it. :duh

Please help!! I just want to make sure everything is connected correctly before I put the manifold back on.

The PCV valve connects to the port on the back of the intake plenum, about 6" away from the PCV valve. Hard to see, but use a flashlight and a mirror. The factory arrangement is supposed to make #8 cylinder run lean and can cause damage so some have used the port on the back of the plenum for the brake booster and run the PCV hose to the vac. tree where the booster was hooked in. I intend to do this when it warms up a bit.

I believe Steve meant that this is for an 86 5.0 Bronco, but his internal pic label shows f150. shouild be same

Acronyms & Color Codes;
EMISSION: Red = Main vacuum;
Green = EGR function;
Yellow = from the TAD Solenoid (driver's side Forward Solenoid) to the TAD (Diverter) Valve located at the rear of the Intake Manifold
White = EGR vacuum (source);
Black = Mainly used for the Evaporative emissions control;
Black = Thermactor ACV or Diverter valve;

Pink = from the TAB Solenoid (driver's side rear solenoid) to the bottom of the Thermactor Air Bypass Valve (TAB or BPV/AIR Bypass (AIRB) valve);

From TOP of Diagram;
ACV (Air Control Valve) is the TAD (Thermactor Air Diverter) Valve (AIR Bypass (AIRB) and AIR Diverter (AIRD) valve combinations)

FPR is Fuel Pressure Regulator

MAN VAC is Manifold Vacuum (usually a Tree type fitting in upper intake manifold)

EGR is Exhaust Gas Re-circulation Valve

SOL V: Thermactor Air Diverter (TAD) Solenoid; Location pic in mid 80s; the "right side" (passenger) near the AC/Ventilation Systems Vacuum Tank (black plastic ball type) by Steve83.net or mounted next to the coil

SOL V Thermactor Air Bypass (TAB) Solenoid; same location or mounted next to the coil)

VRESER is the Vacuum Reservoir Can (Tank)

Carbon Can is Carbon Canister (Charcoal Canister, Vapor Canister, Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister)

MAP is Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor

AIR BPV is the AIR Bypass (AIRB) Valve

Thanks Nelbur, I will check that out....Meisk...again, that diagram does me no good...I have my diagram under the hood, it doesn't list the PCV valve.

ok, I have found the connector for the original pcv valve connection on the back of the plenum..and I intend on hooking it up there for now...I think someone before had switched some vacuum lines to the pcv valve, but not the brake booster...now is when I need a real diagram, cause I have a line that is coming from???? that then splits into 2 and both lines go into the intake valve. I think this line was the one that they attached to the pcv valve...as it was burnt up and melted from going under the intake...any help???

Well, I got it going and drove it round the backyard a few times....just need to time it and fine tune it...should be running like a top in a little bit. Actually is running better than ever, even with out the timing adjusted...just falters when you hit the gas...

I'm sure the diagram and other info I gave you will help, someday. Or maybe now, because I bet you had no idea what some of those terms are nor what the original color coding means. Thgen use that diagram and /or the one you have to ensure that the components listed have vac lines running as shown to other components. Of course, over the years other owners or shops probably have replaced the oroiginal colored lines and probably re-routed em because they were too lazy to follow Ford's original path with connectors in between.

Nelbur, thank you for the information. I did use your information to find the line that goes to the PCV valve.

Ha Ha..I forgot all about this post. We,, now I have the main lines all good, now just have to re-hook up all the broken plastic lines and electrical for vacumn module/canister. Also replace the tail light harness, that the dogs chewed up, and misc. other stuff. Anyone want to come and help, or just come by and hang out while I work? In Riverside Ca. I will be working on it mostly the week of October 8th 2012. You can find me on the facebook FSB page also, if you would like. I am always on there, not so much on here.
