Ok, here goes dumb question #1…wtf is this thing? I can’t think of any purpose it could possibly serve, and I am tempted to ditch it in en effort to liven up my motor.
Its how the cruise control on some of these older trucks work.
If its leaking will create a vacuum leak, but otherwise should not see a gain/loss from it.
It's not part of the carburetor. It is an add on device. If you change the carb to an aftermarket version you may have to fabricate how to attach the speed control link if you want retain that function. Not a big issue.
