I seem to have a short vin. When I went to set up my insurance for my 78 bronco online. It kept telling me I needed 17 numbers. I could only find 11 on the title and the old registration. Has this happened to anyone? If i am not looking inthe right spot then please tell me were the next 6 numbers will be. James :banghead

On the older vehicles that is all the numbers you are going to find, they were short back in those days.

yeah had the same prob when I first got mine. she even misunderstood me on the phone and messed up a letter in it. i noticed 2 months later was like wtf? they don't even pick up on it cause of them being so old

Get a catalogue from Jeffs Brnco Graveyard. You can break the VIN down in the back of there.

carfax is the same way. They will not run the older vins.
