ok so on my way back from this cruise that left from galveston, which is about 45 minutes away from me. so on my way back my bronco's voltmeter guage was reading a little high, right on the end on NORMAL, i didnt think much of it but later on that day i drove it again but this time the guage was pegged at the highest point. i parked it and tested every thing and it all checked out, so what do ya think? i have a aux. voltmeter guage laying around so should i use it? thanks in advance for the help.

oh yea i took it back to the shop that put the alt in and they confimed that everything was ok, but they said they could hook a machine that would test the guages, ive never heard of this so i wanted to get some comfimation before they did it

Might as well have the gauge tested, but I'd put in the aux. voltmeter guage if you got it laying around :thumbup

If an external voltmeter shows that the actual voltage is still 13.5-14.7 with the engine running, replace the dash gauge.
