Do not visit ww.broncozone.com(left one W out on purpose) or click on any links you may get on email...

I got an email from a friend with a link to broncozone and got slammed... So far I've cleaned 16 of 84 infections found by SBC's virus scan... Just downloaded and started running PC tools anti-virus. Hopefully I can get this stuff cleared off without having to format the hard drive...

Anyway I called the sender and he did not send the email, however he is also infected after logging in over there, so I guess it's sending out emails on it's own...

Take care----Fog

yo,
I should have posted it again under a new title as Fog just did, but I was not sure it was BZ. Seabronco did tell me he thought the people who own the server caught it and fixed it.
I will not try again until later this weekend with more AV and firewall installed and another system back-up.
Also, I believe the Australian or/and the Ford Forums
@ http://www.ford-forums.com/ford-bronco/
may have been infected as well.

Word up/Word to your mama...

Symentec is likely to be the BEST (IMHO) antivirus program out there, Ive used several and this one appears to be the BEST. It will protect not only your files on your hard drive, but bad ActiveX junk and J scripts while browsing. It is VERY effective and I have yet to be infected while running it (in addition to FireFox).

That last note leads me to, switch to FireFox, you wont regret it. Its not 100% sure to be virus free browsing, but 99% aint bad.

You will have to BUY Symentec Anti Virus, but I promise you, there is no free lunch in the world, the freebies just dont cut the mustard!!!

Anyway, HTH...

Just use Linux like me. The only reason why I need an antivirus is so I don't just pass one on to my Window's friends. :)

I just installed and am now runing Firefox... Seems to be stable for now... I re-ran my AV in safe-mode and re-booted. Scanned twice using PC tools and the SBC AV after the safe-mode. Both came back clean... I think I beat'em this time...

Thanks for the advice... Now I gotta play with FF a little to see what else it does...

true dat! I use firefox almost exclusively - short of the sites that won't work with FF, of course. Plus, the extensions for it, are making browsing way easier. Of course, regular maintanence on your own part makes a big difference, too. Which reminds me ...

MAJOR EDIT Seabronco IMed me to say that there is a log-in now that does not look correct....so abstain for awhile from ckicking the site...Did not check it out yet.
Also, at least 3 other Big bronco/Ford 4x4 sites may have similar hack problems.
http://www.ford-forums.com/ford-bronco/
http://www.fordforums.com
http://www.gsbroncos.com (def. hacked)

btw, it got by my Norton AV/IS which is current.
FF is good!
and also, back-up regularly after running scans.
Appears Message Boards all over are getting hacked recently.
