waterproofing the motor?

what all has to be done to completely and safely water proof the motor, i know a snorkel for one, but whatr about the altternator, coil, solenoid, distributor, there;s a small vent in the cap can that be sealed up or does it have to be left open, thanks, the truck is a 86 with efi im the guy that you can dare to drive through anything so the truck see's quite a bit of water

I would like to see a DETAILED write up on waterproofing .. something we could KEEP on the site for future reference
