Drove out to the shop doing the work on my truck. Turns out since I have a 1996 the maf from the Cobra and lightning will plug right into the 1996 harness. If you have a 95 truck you need an adapter.

Did the wheel bearings on one side, since the other side exploded on me. Both sides are new now. Had to replace the lockout slug on the side that exploded. As i started taking the other side apart, 5 of the 6 cap screws broke in the slug and the sixth broke as i got it out. Good thing i had a full set of spare warns from the JY.

Then got my air intake system bolted in and the hood sealing foam (caulking backer rod) is stuck on with ultra black rtv. Waiting on it to dry.

Also got my batteries installed and all three fans working. And my lights all work. Getting closer to driving it again!

Got the motor out! Will pull heads tomorrow to look at bores but instead of jacking with a .060 over block, think I'll talk to Creb... after I do some work in the engine bay!

Since Uncle Sam sent me $1400.00 for my suffering, I had a new set of B.F.Goodrich All Terrain K02 TA's 33 x 12.5 x 15's installed at Discount Tire this morning. The install guy comes out and tells me there are 2 of my lug nut studs that the threads are all cobbed up on the drivers front hub. I bought a set of new lug nuts and had him put them on the 3 other wheels. The jacked up one got the best of the old nuts on it. Gonna replace the studs next week. Took a vacation day to do it, so I got paid also. The old tires were from 2010 and had dry rot cracks inside the tread. Still way under $1400.00! Good day!

I feel guilty but I haven't "spent money" on the bronco yet except for repair parts and tools but I don't count those. So I'm looking at a set of Toyo Open Country AT3 in 30 or 31 inch, by 9.5 or 10.5 on my 15" factory steel wheels. I got the wheels unmounted today. They had been painted black and its flaking off big time by the po. Want to wire wheel them and spray them something close to gun metal then go mount the new tires on them. Supposed to be a trail bronco no rock crawling. Is it okay?

The Bronco in my post above is my 93 E/B with Dick Cepek 10" wide rims. My other Bronco is an 88 E/B with stock rims. Bout a year ago I put on a new set of Hankook Dyna Pro AT's. They are 31 x 10.5 x 15's. The tires you described should fit no problem. I'd go with the 10.5 width...

Reinstalled the newly rebuilt saginaw, and found my belt to be much too short. Need a 55" one.

Then i installed the "hood scoop" and busted out the flat black rustoleum. Black because it goes with everything and flat to cut down on sun glare.

I think it looks damn sharp. In the background is the next mod. Its a Lund cab visor from a junkyard F-series. Been told, and read many times that it wont fit. But guess what, it does. Maybe not 100% perfect, but at least 97%. It is drying now with a couple coats of XIM 400 bonding primer. Tomorrow ill hit up the auto parts store for a gray to match my flares and topper.

I used 10-24 riv-nuts as the attachment method. Drill a hole and insert a threaded rivet. Then crimp. Nice and clean.

Installed my Borgeson 000985 steering shaft. It is definitely more responsive (as in no play at all) but also more sensitive (as in feel more bumps in the road).

Had some extra daylight after my Borgeson shaft install, so finally installed my replacement Westin steps in black. Now my tubes all match.

Tapped myoriginal manifold's flange stud holes. Was tough at the bottom of the theeads. Always wanted to learn to do that. Also tried these bits I got to drill through stuck manifold bolts. Worked well. I did it on a thing I didn't care about. Hopefully tomorrow I can get to the bolts in the head with this setup. I'll punch the bolt at center, use a very thin bit all the way through then use progressively larger bits until I get to 5/16(bolts are 3/8) then I'll tey and use some picks to take off what remains of the bolt, or maybe tap, will play it by ear.

Finished painting my cab visor and installed the PS/OBA/WP belt yesterday.

Duplicolor graphite wheel paint almost perfectly matches my flares and topper. I discovered that Autozone has by far the best selection of rattle can paints. Im an advance and napa guy, but they dont have a ton for paint and nothing that came close to matching.

Today is fluid change day, cab visor install, and firing it up for the first time since June of 2019 when the clucth went out, we moved into an unfinished house, and my pops almost died. Been a long couple of years.

Are you driving it to camp n crawl or throwing it on a trailer @BigBlue 94? That would be a pretty good road trip to get everything loosened up for the weekend. I still have to get over and pick up that F-150 so I can have decent tires for the trip. I might try to stay after work tomorrow and make a set of sliders. I pulled the top off this morning for the 80* day. I would really like to get new exhaust manifold gaskets in too but that will wait until I can have time to deal with broken bolts and studs.

Driving it down there. I drove it to Moab 2 years ago. That was quite a trip with no OD, cruise, or AC. 900 miles at 3000 rpms!

If i remove my top for offroading, my B-pillar cracks will get worse. Only spare 5 lug wheels and tires I have are crumbling 36" swampers.
... I have 8 spare 8 lug wheels and tires doh! Gotta gather my camping gear up to

Well, I got the F150 visor mounted up like a charm!

20210406_151745.jpg

Got the PS pump plumbed back up and filled with ATF. Only had a couple gallons of older gas so i poured 7 gallons of fresh in. Poured 8qts of Driven HR2 oil in (dual remote FL1As and a +1 qt oil pan) and the Schneider ZDDP additive for my cam. Old oil had about 1500 miles and a lot of heat put on it, and still was partially transparent.

Was gonna change the oil in the NP435, but my exhaust is blocking the fill plug. Ill do it later.

Then had to troubleshoot my 3G alternator install. Had no power to the cab and no starter. Got that fixed and then had to readjust my NSS from when i lost the slave and pedal went to the floor. And then I find a dead starter solenoid... Guess ill go buy a couple tomorrow. Then its time to drive! And then leave for KSRocks on friday morning. Feeling a little like im on Roadkill

DROVE IT! For the first time since summer of '19. And of course its been raining all day so it got all dirty

I fired it up and had no clutch. Heart sank. Decided to bleed it and got it to work! Throttle cable needs an adjustment, it has a bit of a hang up.

Electric fans work well, kept my temps between 165 and 180.
