-14 deg. last night and the Bronco is running like a swiss watch.
I love having a fresh engine and not having to wonder. :rockon
Glad to hear she's runnin' great!

It's not quite as cold here, but it is 18 right now and I was just behind a guy on a nice lookin' Harley. Man, froze me just seeing it.

Changed the wiring to the starter,starter relay and the small wire from relay to the starter. All of the wires were burnt at one end or the other. Bigger, Better, More Power!



I put heat shrink on all of the ends, on the #2 cable the heat shrink started out huge and ended up like this.



My battery has brass post so I replaced the lead terminals with brass terminals with studs. All of the terminals presently are connected to the positive and negative terminal of the battery. This is just to get it running. I intend on using a 250 amp 4 post bus bar to spread things out a little.



I also replaced all of the emissions vacuum lines. Most of them were broken



I did not have all silicone lines so I had to utilize some rubber. I do have silicone lines in route but as of yet they have not arrived.

The dull battery tray did not work out more on that later. I am going to have a mechanic friend of mine hook up the electric fans so they turn on with the air conditioning.

Made up a bracket to mount my CB antenna to. Its 3/16 steel cut and ground to shape.



Then I took a scrap of exhaust pipe and made some armor for the coax cable connection







Here it'll get three holes drilled in the mount and spare tire carrier bracket. Then I'll tap the holes in the spare tire carrier and bolt it down. I've done it bolted to the side of the carrier mount before with great success.



Just enough room for the cable to come out

Replaced the tailgate window regulator roller on the drivers side. It had disappeared and the window wasn't going up correctly. Cut the stud off, ground down what was left till I could just knock the rest out. Bolted the new one in, greased the track with some motorcycle chain lube. Works good as new. Dorman part 74402. About $4.00 at local parts house. Ordered last night had it today.

this was last couple weeks but on my 88, we ripped out the seats which were completely falling appart from rust and being held in by zipties. the floor is also pretty baddy rusted out so we cleaned up the rust some, sprayed some rust converter paint on it, and used some cut up pieced of rubber liner to cover the holes. its not going to add support but i figuered something is better than nothing at covering the holes and preventing water from coming up through them

jsut like i did in the 96 but without the sound insulation, we bedlined the floor with a thick layer and let it dry for about a week. you can see some of the areas where we covered the holes. the bedliner should help protect from water getting under the flooring and causing further rust


once dry we put down a vinyl flooring. its a Auto Custom Carpets kit from Automotive Interiors.


went to the junkyard and looked for any kind of non-cloth seats i could find. since its a mudtruck, i want to have seats i can wipe the water away once wet instead of sitting in wet seats all day for a multi-day event. out of a few hundred vehicles these were the best seats i could find from a ~2000 Chevy truck. also did find a cente rconsole form a 95 bronco.



problem is the seats are meant for a flat floor unlike the bronco that the floor is raised for the seats so i had to weld up some tall brackets on the outside rail to make them work. also made pads for the inner rail for above and below the floor to reinforce the metal. the brackets also have plating under the floor to reinforce since the rust is bad in that area.



i tried to swap a F-series tailgate onto it since i dont need rear window and the old tailgate is falling apart at the seams and heavy. when i mocked it up i decided against it, the striker, hinges, and cable supports were in very akward locations that would requires too much work to bother. also the f-series tailgate being soo much thinner looked really wierd. instead i gutted the bronco tailgate to make it very light and put some diamond plate to fill the window opening. should keep rain out and hold the tailgate together solidly. could be better but im fine with it

also i added some LED pod lights and LED headlights. headlights are some cheap fanless leds bulbs that are waterproof incase rthe housing fills up with water again it wont shatter like the halogens. also without a fan like most leds, mud should not affect it. the battery was only at 7volts so they look really dim i nthe picture

Been running around with an rv battery so the hold down wasn’t doing anything. Finally fatigued the terminal clamp and snapped it... rigged it up so I could make it home. gonna fix that sometime this weekend once I’m done moving....

Spent the day in the woods with a bunch of good guys I used to wheel my CJ with. Beautiful sunny day about 35 and the first snow wheeling I’ve done in the Bronco. I’m basically stock on 33 all terrains and the Jeeps are all pretty tricked out on 35s and 37s.

Guess what rig was the only one that didn’t get the hook? That’s right, the BKO! I was really impressed with how it went and that 351w sure makes a difference in the snow.

Couple of long, steep inclines that I couldn’t believe I made without recovery. Ice and 18” of snow. Cool.

What did I do today.... I start a new project with my son who is a talented photographer and videographer, filming and producing a commercial for our Bronco. Not required but would be fun to do and costs zero dollars.

Yep we are gonna put it up for sale/trade and look for a new project. During the write up for the ad it really blew my mind about how much work we put into the rig and how many parts we replaced.

But my secret plan is to make sure that the commercial project takes a long time to finish so we can still enjoy the warmer months with the top off.

Oh BTW the Bronco project is officially complete...he got his license 3 weeks ago and took the truck to school on his own in a really proper snow storm on the first day. That was the last step.

He loves this thing but he cannot afford to drive to hockey practice.

A few weeks ago, my wife got the mazda stuck on our road. If i'd had a winch mount on the F150, I'd have had her pulled out in about 10 minutes. But, I didn't, and I had to use the hi-lift jack to get her out.

So today, I welded a receiver tube on the SAS crossmember, behind the bumper, so I can use the winch on the truck when I need it. See pics.

somewhat unrelated to the winch, but I bought a 60" beam for the hi-lift jack. I originally had a 48" version, but saw that I could get a new 60" beam for $25, so I did it.
