O.k. so i'm in the process of doing the dreaded oil pan/pump/filter and what a p.i.t.a. I've got the motor jacked up and blocked and the exhaust is disconnected at the manifolds, muffler and 02 sensor but what the bleep is this pipe between the cats that sort of run up along side the tranny dipstick? I havn't even tried to pull the pan because i know there just wont be room.

This is a '93 5.8 with stock exhaust. Please help!!!!:banghead

I believe that is your air tube for your smog pump. you can cut it and use some high temp vacuum line to splice afterwards

Most y-pipes that are fitted for ford appilcations include an AIR port in there, also some aftermarket cats have them as well.
