the 205 is considered by many to be "bulletproof". the 1356 is fine unless you put mega horsepower through it.

whats a 1356? i need a new t-case i think i have a 208 in right now and im guessing the chain drive system shit the bed on it...so what do you think my 80' has in it? ive never heard of a 1356 but i heard of 208,205 &203?

205 is bullit proof but weighs alot. Cast iron case and gear driven. I've heard of running a cross member under it to take the weight off of the tranny which is probably cast aluminium. I'm not sure the tranny would support it without the cross member.

80's either had the NP208F or the BW1345. I love my 1356. It meets all of my expectations. I can see how someone could beet it to death, but I don't think anyone would do that intentionally. BW's are expensive to repair though.
