I have a 96 Bronco and the haynes manual doesn't list wheel bearing specs for my front end. Mine only has one lock nut. The outer hub cover only has 3 holes. Does any one know the wheel bearing torque spec & proceedures?:banghead

Mine only has one locking nut. I want to get it right. I just invested $360.00 for bearings & brakes to try to eliminate a vibration problem, after the tire balance, of course.

Tighten adjusting nut to 50-60 ft. lbs. (68-81 N.M.) while turning wheel back aqnd forth.
Note: Adjusting nut will not tighten past 70 ft. lbs. (95 N.M.).
Threaded portion of nut will ratchet in the assembly.

Apply inward presssure to spanner lock nut wrench to disengage locking splines, back off adjusting nut approximately 1/2 turn (180 degrees). Retighten adjusting nut to 15 ft. lbs.(20N.M.). Final end play of wheel on spindle should be 0-.006.:beer

PS I replaced with the three piece design as mine finally gave up the ghost and broke inte several pieces. It is the Warn automatic hub change over conversion at least for mine it was.
