whenever i roll out of a parking spot- going really slow- theres a loud "whirring" noise that comes from my rear passenger side. it happens alot when its cold out- but itll start off real loud, then as i go faster- itll keep pace with the tire rotation, then itll fade away, as if something got warmed up...
could it be the rear diff?
my mom's mercedes does the same thing on both sides...

When I hear "whirring" I tend to think fuel pump.

If it's the rear end then u will here a houling sound and it wont go away it just gets louder.. I think what u may be hearing is the rubber on the iner fender is rubing the fender i had this problem on mine and it drove me nuts it would start out slow and increase with wheel speed and then go away after getting enough wind to push it back away from tire...dont know if this helps u any....
