Hey all, new here and first post... anyway, the g/f has a 1989 Bronco and it's windshield wipers are going out on her.

When we were driving it today I finally witnessed it and am not sure what exactly the deal is - they work absolutely fine and dandy for awhile, but they slow and become choppy before they eventually quit.

Turn them off and let them sit for a few and they work like new after that, but still lag then die. I was thinking it seems like they just lose momentum, but how is that even possible? LOL, I told her it was probably the windshield wiper's alternator, but I would like to know if anyone has some suggestions.

I've tried looking at everything, but like I said - they're connected and working, just losing power after a couple minutes running... thanks all!

Sounds like the wiper motor is heating up and dieing. You will need to repair or replace it.
If you have a whole lot of other accessories going maybe the alternator is not keeping up. A 3G alternator could be in the future.
