Yeah, usually rims sized for Chevies (5x5) will have a smaller hub center bore. Fords are usually the biggest if I remember correctly. I have, for example, put newer 5 lug factory Dodge rims on one of my trucks before since Dodge uses/used that same lug pattern as Ford on their 1500's, but their center bore is way too small to clear the Ford hubs.
Not sure if it applies to all rims, but from most/every aftermarket rim I've ever seen with a 5 x5.5 lug pattern they always have a huge center bore so they'll clear both Ford and Dodge hubs. If you look at one of my rims that I have on my Bronco you can see the center bore goes basically from the edge of each lug nut. They are huge bores.
