I am wanting to make a trip to pick-a-part sometime this week to start getting items for an OBA system. When I am at pick-a-part what vehicles should I be looking at for the York compressors that work best for OBA's?

Old Volvo's, look at the tag on the York and get one that has "210R" in the part number.

Also late 70s-80s mercedes. I usually find 80s volvos the easiest though.

Any one of the 3 sizes York A/C pump will work, the smaller ones just take longer to build the air back up. If the pump does not have a tag, then the next best way to tell what size pump it is, is to remove the pulley. If the shaft is square cut, then it's a 210. When I put my OBA system together, I made sure the pump was good internally by taking it apart and cleaning all the gummed up oil out of it and installed new seals and gaskets just to save me some pain down the road. Check out Kilby Enterprises web site, it has tons of info on OBA systems as well as York A/C pumps, here's the link: http://www.kilbyenterprises.com/

Check out the "Info Center" tab.
