I would just wait until you have the truck back before you start any fab work. It took me about 2 hours to build my front receiver hitch.

Ill go out and take some measurements for ya. Then a few pics of my current setup to give you a few ideas.

My center bar is 29". From frame rail to frame rail its 35". You would want about 35.5".

Basically I used some 2" for the center bar and some beefy angle iron.
