I've decided since I have some big things coming for my truck, I'd start a build thread instead of posting a new thread everytime something changes....

Anyways, my truck is a 1996 Eddie Bauer with the 351/E40D/BW1356 and 3.55 open rear. I bought it with 74,XXX miles and it just rolled 76,000 miles a week ago...

Here is a bit of progression from 3 years ago til now.

Here's a pic i took on my phone 3 years ago

Here is when I went to look at it last october

Then when I bought it. Needed a new battery right off the bat

The first two things I did was take the steps off and install an alpine 9886 headunit... The step bars were completely rotted out, and I couldnt take AM/FM radio anymore...

Step Removal: http://www.fullsizebronco.com/forum/showthread.php?t=160124

Next up, since my front speakers were completely blown out, I installed a set of boston acoustics, which are absolutely amazing.

Not to long ago I installed a set of 35W 6000K HID's because the stock bulbs sucked...

Alright here is a small update....

Kalashnikov threw in a 460 intake tube with my lift, so I decided to put it on today....

thanks to ford munky man for telling me how to install it properly:thumbup

Stock on top 460 on bottom

Image

In order for it to fit, I had to cut this bit off.
Image

now it fits like a glove!

and, as promised, heres the beginning to my 4" lift

Here is part of the superlift standard lift kit.... I am not using those shocks because they are crap, I will be buying Bilstein 5100's. So I need to get shocks, coils and then shackle flip the rear and put this on

Image

Here is me trying out the 460 tube... truck is alittle bit louder for sure... Butt dyno says maybe 1/2hp?

I have a set of brand new rough country 4" coil springs. I installed them, drove 3 miles home. ordered 6" coil springs, drove 3 miles back to the shop and took the 4" coil springs off. If you want them, ill sell them to ya pretty cheap.

78-79's were different from 80+ no?

Plus I'm going to get a set of superlifts to match what originally came with my lift... Just not sure if I want to order from JBG since they have a pretty bad rep

here is a small update for today

I started out washing my truck, and ended up doing something totally different :doh0715:

I replaced the weather seal for the rear window finally, no more leaks! :beer Well, the roof still leaks :doh0715: Anyways....

I am glad i finally got this out of the way, easy as cake. Now my rear window wont go up without help though :tinfoil

Old and busted
Image

new and not busted
Image

I need to replace these to, they are totally rusted out and just crap....

Image

it was rather wet under the rug... when I am out of school I plan on ripping the entire interior out and just sealing everything... my roof is still leaking, cant wait to fix that

Lastly, can anyone tell me what this is and where to get a new one? its some felt thing that the window rubs against, mine is kinda falling apart

Small update, just got the truck back from the shop... they had to work on the pass rear brake drum because it was making rythmic noises when I would brake...

Also, my drivers side radius arm bushing was shot, that got replaced... the pass side was replaced not long ago...

No more popping noises now!

Oh yeah, the shop even painted my radius arm bracket, to bad its coming off in like two months for a RA drop bracket :D

Alright small update... tuesday I decided to put my truck in the garage at work to see if I'd have clearence to get it out of the garage when its 4" higher.... looks like I will and then some

Image

Also, I have to order a new coolant/washer fluid tank... Mine was held on by wire since someone lost a bolt... The wire started stretching so I was going to find a bolt to put in there... By the time I got to putting a bolt in (tuesday) I find out that the plastic tab had completely snapped into two... So i cut the wire off, and put a bolt in but I didnt trust the bolt to hold that tank in over the first bump I hit, so I had to duct tape it in place for now... I'll be ordering a new tank and some seals from LMC.... 60 bucks for a tank, ugh

I already bought that damn lift off you! :tinfoil

just drill some holes through the plastic peice that held the tab and through the mounting bracket and run a zip tie through it.
Its completely split in two and the top of it i could snap off with the twist of a finger, theirs no saving the tab...

the coolant cap leaks anyways so

Anyone know a good place to buy the following?

Superlift 4" lift coils

Spicer ball joints

Warn Premium locking hub WITH conversion kit

I'm still poking around for the hubs.... just dont wanna order it from some crappy website

#37 ·
I just bought the mile marker premiums w/ conversion from JBG for $85.

You can always buy any old D44 warn premiums and then get the conversion pieces...which is just a few locknuts.

I can even give you the JBG part # for the auto conversion specific parts.

I get my Spicer stuff from rockauto.com and I've been told that NAPA's house brand stuff is reboxed spicer, but that could be incorrect.

Well, I got my tires in today! Which was totally unexpected, I ordered them tuesday and paid for ups ground.... My mom asked why their was 4 tires in the back yard and I was like, there is?

Sure enough

Now i still need coils, shocks and bolts, then I can get this thing lifted :rockon

It reeked of new tire, and for some reason it wasn't that nice new rubber smell... they put some coating on it which smells bad.... Although the smell is gone so thats good....

I just made an offer on some 5100 shocks on ebay, looking to save like 200 dollars compared to summit....

What brand coils are yours again? I'm looking for 4" superlifts

I've spent a few thousand with JBG and have not had one issue, JMHO.

You can get any D44 lockout then and NAPA carries the conversion parts that you need. I just came across the part #s in a thread I was reading earlier.

For the BJs, I'd go into NAPA and have them bring out a set. Open the box and they'll probably be marked Spicer.

I've also heard tales of Autozone carrying spicer parts.
