Hey, I am trying to get my rig solid for RITS this year and pulled my steering shaft u-joint with the intent to replace it. Well uhm, my parts guy is having a hell of a time finding one and I am not having luck in the JBG, etc realm.

Where are you sourcing your part from? :beer

You mean the u-joint in the stock steering shaft? I never knew that there was ever a replacement part for that..'non-serviceable' item was what Ford told me years ago and sold me a new steering shaft assembly complete..something that they can not do now..obsolete.

Since then (1995 or so?) I've gone Borgeson shafts on every rig I have...pricey, but they don't wear out.

The factory U-Joint is garbage, there are no needle bearings in the cups and no way to grease it. The replacement U-Joint and knuckles I installed are bigger and the U-Joint (made by Dana) has a grease fitting on it. When I took my factory one apart, the U-Joint was worn really bad and almost fell apart in my hand. I'm glad I did replace it before it fell apart while driving down the road
