93 XLT,

Windshield wipers work almost like they should if turned on normally, high, low and delay work and they turn off, although they stop wherever they are when you turn them off(Problem #1)

But if you push the button for spray (which also turns on the wipers normally for four swipes) they never turn off, until the ignition is turned off.

The Bronco Belongs to my Mother and im trying to help her out and get it fixed.

Any Help would be Great.

Matt

The problem is indeed the MFS multifunction switch. Many places sell them, but the dealer is the one who will ham slam you on the price. I bought my extra one on ebay for like $40.......if I was you I would look there first.
What you could do before you resign yourself to buying a new MFS is to remove the end cap off the one you have and get a can of electrical contact cleaner and some q-tips and clean the hell out of it. I know for sure, and if you search this forum you will see that 99.9% of the time a good cleaning will bring the MFS right back to full working order. I cleaned mine about two years ago when it started acting up, and its been golden ever since!

So its your choice......clean the one you have or buy a new/used one. Or do what I did......clean yours and still buy another one as a back up unit!!!!
Good luck.....but let us know what you do and how you make out.

Is there any trick to removing it or just literally pull it off? I am having the same problem as scrub. I'd love to try and clean it first.

Just look at the end of the stalk itself. See if you can pull the part hat turns off easy enough.....if not just use the contact cleaner and douche the hell out of it by spraying in the gap between the stalk and the end cap, and turn on the wipers to full and back to off a bunch of times while spraying.

If you search the forum you will find the info about how to remove the end cap. Search MFS or multi function switch or something of that sort.

Thats fine if you just want to R&R a MFS, but if you want to clean out a existing MFS thats causing trouble, you need to open the switch end of the stalk, and douche it out with contact cleaner.
