Can anyone clarify on the Windstar Year ranges? I may have access to one I can cannibalize.
First page of thread.

If you have an 87-92 302 (5.0L) or 351W (5.8L): you have a 2G alternator. This is an early serpentine style. This can only be replaced with a Pivot Mount w/ 7.00” ear spacing alternator. Minor bracket clearancing may be required. This can be found in the following cars:
93-99 narrow-eared non-DOHC Taurus
94-95 V8 Mustang
94-00 V6 Mustang
94-97 V6 T-Bird/Cougar
95-98 Windstar
91-94 V6 Lincoln Continental.

I just pulled one out of a 97 Windstar, 3.0, 130 AMP.. Grab some of the alternator wiring too.

Where'd all the pretty pics go? hahaha..

I do better with pics. Trying to hook up a 3G in my 73 Bronco. I have done it twice in my 88 and 92, not sure why I am overthinking this shit. But, lol, I am .

I see them. Perhaps supermotors was down again. You still in Simi?

Yep, still here. Sold my 92 Bronco and took on my father's 73 Bronco now. Trying to get the alt hooked up as well as an evap system. Installing a 23 gallon tank in the rear and hitting a dead end with the evap. Probably overthinking it. Good you're still around man.

Green with red stripe on the alt to green with red stripe at the original regulator wiring, yellow with white stripe on a ring terminal to the charge stud, new charge cable with fuse to the hot side of the solenoid. I like to use the whole harness out of the 94-95 Mustang GT the most, just add the fuse and holder inline. Can’t help with the evap but why do you need it, out of curiosity? I’m still in the west SFV, gonna shoot for a Bronco trip or meet up or something for the spring or summer.

Thanks for the info on the Alt.. I got the wiring out of a 93 Taurus. Got as much as I could. Done this mod twice before. Some reason, I was thinking the 73 would be different.

As for the evap. It had one on there, behind the drivers side seat, tucked under the panel. The whole system was a cluster F, so we removed it. Still smelled fumes. Got the 23 gallon tank installed, removed the aux tank. Now it's a more simple system, not a lot of hoses. The Evap I hooked up from the tank vent nipple, to the evap and it seems to be working better. I haven't driven the rig much, but, haven't smelled fumes when I have. I also did a mod I found on youtube in regards to the fuel filler neck. Got a filler neck of a 90s explorer. Removed the top piece of the filler neck, where the cap stays on. Rounded out my existing filler neck so the piece would fit. Voila.. Now, I can pump gas in the rig without holding the gas nozzle at a weird angle or shooting back out the filler neck all over the rig. lol. It was nice to fill up the tank, and just locking in the gas nozzle , like on a newer vehicle.

Now, to learn about carbs and clean the one I got, and tune it. lol.

Keep in touch about the Bronco meet or trip... I'm down for that. Hopefully this "pandemic" will be quieter by then.

Crap, sorry for the long rant..

I swear, I've done this a couple of times now. And, I am still brain farting where to connect my starter, alt and battery cables on the solenoid. lol... I found a pic of Shadowfoxes set up, but, I was laughing at myself about this 3g deal. You'd think since I've done it on my 88 and 92 in the past, the 94 would be no big deal, just follow what was there before. lol, Ughhhh..
