So ill just copy and paste what i emailed a lawyer friend...Can anyone help me with this...not me but a friend...she got hitched a week ago and realized what a big mistake it was...here ya go

Im writing to you from West Grove Pa in the lower end of southern chester county from the West Grove Firehouse. I am in need of some information. This may not be your field of expertise but maybe you could help me out or at least point me in the right direction.
A friend of mine(20 y/o Female) recently married a friend of hers(23 y/o male) in Elkton maryland. She is a resident here in pa and he lives in lower Delaware. Don't ask me why they got married, she doesn't know either. It was kind of a spur of the moment thing and a stupid decision. They had no prior relationship, just 2 friends who joked about getting married and actually did. She has realized her mistake now just over a week after the ceremony. She is in a tuff position, i have explained to her about annulments and divorce and this is what she really wants because she knows she screwed up and she needs to fix this before she returns to the Marine Corps.
I am a bit confused on the annulment process. I have been doing alot of reading online and i am trying to use some of the resources i have through the fire dept. to gather information. I have read that she needs to file for annulment in the state she lives. However, im not sure on this because he lives in DE. Please clear this up for me. Also, there has to be good reason for annulment to be granted. I am looking for a solution to this and a way that she can come up with one. Any help on what she needs to do for an annulment to go through would be very helpful. Divorce as i understand is rather expensive and not necessary in my mind because there are no property or children to be settled over. Basically she just needs this paper work voided.
I know this is asking alot but im in need of a favor and don't know where to turn to. I will continue my research online and i hope to hear from you.
Thank you very much for your time, this means alot to me; And even more to her

i just need info on how to make it go thriough...appartently you have to have a good reason...help me out

thanx guys

DC This is Mississippi ONLY. Consult an atty in your are for state specifics.

an annulment generally declares that the marriage "never existed" Annulment generally is limited to (1) bigamy (2) kinship w/i prohibited degrere (3) incurable impotency, (4) insanity (5) failure to meet license requirements IF NO COHAB occurs, (6) incapicity of cosent, i.e. age or understanding, (7) physical incapacity (8) fraud (9) pregnancy of wife by another WITHOUT HUSBANDS KNOWLEDGE.

A voidABLE marriage may be annulled only w/i 6 months.

STOOPIDITY aint one of the grounds.....probably action tiled where the marriage occurred...divorce is better, I suspect, as Court's are reluctant to annul a marriage, but I have gotten them annulled, ON THE SPECIFIC facts, not whims and caprices.

each state differrent as you well know. Like Mississippi does not recognize irreconcilable differences a s ground for divorce, and as such requires consent of both parties.......

again, check with an atty in the state where they were married.

really...i thought they were the cheaper way...i have some more research to do...
i can't see it being too expensive or lawyers being required...they dont live together or own any property together and have no kids...they are two friends w/ paperwork
do you know if she has to apply in the state she was married or the one she lives in?
