My 95 has a completely stock 351w with 230,000 miles on it. The truck has always ran great but in probably the last 50,000 miles the motor has gone down hill fast. It has start burning oil and there is a substantial amount of oil in the coolant system. I also feel that it has lost a lot of power over the years. I cant deside whether to rebuild my current motor of buy a new one. Whether I build it or buy it I want it to be a very powerful 351. I was hoping that you all could advise me on which way to go with this build up.

If your gonna deviate from a "stock" engine by upgrading parts,I personally would build my own or have it built. If you want a direct "swap out over the weekend" deal, just get a reman/exch. Jasper and Motorcraft both have real good engines but are more expensive than some of the parts stores or machine shops. Most of the sale price engines just use lower quality/cost parts. If you have time to let your truck sit while the engine is built, talk to a machine shop about what you have in mind.

If your block is in good shape, have it rebuilt.. a 95 is roller ready so you can pick up a used 5.0 HO cam cheap if your staying SD or add mass air and go with a E303 cam @ 4* advanced.. a set of decent heads like AFR 185's.. stay at 030 over if bores permit.. new double roller timing set, hi-flow water pump, 1.6 roller rockers etc..
find a GT-40 upper /lower from a Gen 1 Lighting..
go www.nloc.net forums and search the Gen 1 parts for some killer deals..
don't go HP nutz on a daily driver, go for reliability and around 300-320 hp..
