Where is it? And how do I know if it's "remote start" or "distributer mount" or whatever else there is? And if it's "grey or black"? I've searched this, but nothing came up my for my year.

I've got all the symptoms of a bad one, so I need to replace it.

It's a 1995 Bronco XLT 5.8

Whoa. I cannot find this stupid thing for the life of me! I followed the wires from the distributor out to three different places, and I cant find the damn thing.

I followed it all the way to the main harness, and still no ICM. HELP?!?

Is it what your hand is on? Because on mine, is just a connector.

And can this going bad mean misfiring while the engine is warm?

It's there somewhere otheriwse the BKO wouldn't run at all BUT FIRST I'd start by "pulling codes" from the vehicle computer and see what electric/electronic issues are indicated to make a better diagnosis.....go here: www.fordfuelinjection.com has all you need for How To BUT requires using either an OBD-I or II Ford Code Reader with book, costs $29.99 at most auto stores.....makes life a lot easier doing this procedure OR there is "pulsing" technique using a paper clip....

Misfiring could be anything from incorrect firing order with plug wires, vacucum leak/s in the emissions system somewhere to ignition component malfunctioning.....modules and coils can be taken off and tested for FREE at the local Autozone etc.......?

Additional DIY info: www.broncolinks.com and Haynes Repair Manual........

Good Luck ~ :thumbup

There are 2 bolts that hold the heat sink onto the fender, one on top, one on bottom. When you get the heat sink off you will see two small bolts that hold the module to the heat sink. You will most likely need to go to autozone (or equivalent) and buy a "Ford ignition Module Wrench" it costs about $5.99. The one I have is made by OEM and is part no 25013. The bolts on the module are small, but the hole isn't big enough to get a socket down in there. Make sure to clean the heat sink thoroughly and but some dielectric grease or thermal compound on the back of the module. I even put some on the backside of the heat sink. Hope that helps and good luck! :beer
