The thermactor system was in such bad shape that pretty much whatever wasn't missing already from it was broken, so I ended up having to pull the rest off. It left me with three areas of question though (for now...)
- The bottom stud/bolt on this bracket that was holding the black air tube is pretty much stripped. Can just barely hand tighten a nut against it, but any more turns and it just keeps spinning.
I'd like to get it secured, any suggestions there -- or how critical is the bracket if all else doesn't work?
- The crossover tube bolt wouldn't budge on the driver's side, so I surrendered and figured I can plug it at the junction point instead of the heads, but the check valve there also didn't want to pop out.
So can I get low tech here and jb weld a bolt or throw some kind of exhaust sealant in the valve? Ideally I'd throw a cap or something over the actual tube opening, but valve and that I think nut below it are stuck in it:
(isregard the cut hose, that's since been removed)
- Will be doing the vacuum line capping/re-routing next. So I have the coffee can reservoir -- 2 red lines, one from the tree and the other from the bottom of the EVR, join together just before the reservoir, and then the black line comes out of the reservoir and goes to the bottom of the TAB/TAD.
But I'm not touching the EGR aside from fixing broken lines, only the thermactor stuff.
So the black lines I figure are useless in that case, but is the reservoir doing something for the EVR/EGR? Confused because it joins with the tree like an output rather than input:
I don't necessarily want to delete the coffee can, just curious if it serves a purpose anymore.
As for if it might control HVAC stuff too, I believe my actual reservoir for that stuff is this guy right here:
Any help to any or all of these 3 things will be most appreciated, thanks!
