Hey wicked, I've seen people run 35's with no lift. Tight as hell, but it fit. But if you do a 3" BL, you should be ok. You need to make some bumper brackets or buy them to relocate the front and rear bumpers. And make sure you lower the fan shroud to align with the fan. And you may need a steering adaptor to lengthened your steering shaft, and your fuel neck will need to be lengthened too. I bought 33x13.5's and I bet I can fit 35's with the 2" front springs that I have on now. It would be tight, and I would have to trim the bottom corner of the fender and bumper, but I know I could get them to fit and still look good.

 

I was thinking of one of those 2 inch leveling kits also...do you think it would work? I have to do either the body lift or the leveling kit. Which one do you think would work better?

 

3 inch body on 35's w/15x10 rims...

It's not like you can just slap a body lift on a 20 year old Bronco for the cost of just the lift. Chances are the body mount sleeves are rusted to the point of needing replacing and you should really replace the 20 year old body mount bushings while it's apart. I'd check your core support mounts also as the supports are known to rust out at the mount and you may damage it to the point where it's no longer usable in the process of removing the bolts. I'm in no way trying to discourage you from doing this, just don't think you're going to get away with it for the $100 cost of the lift.

 

That is the truth. I just got done with my 3 in body lift and 35's and the old mounts for the most part where ok to seperate. BUT! The dam mounts under the dash on my 86 would not come apart. I ended up having to go buy a grinder to cut the old one in half. Then the creating my own shifter linkage extension was a few more to buy the materials plus the tool to flar the ends. I did replace my old b-mounts at the same time. It took like 3 days to get everything swapped out and lifted moved or extended.

$150 for the 35" tires (used)
$100 for lift
$40 for new mounts
(Thought that was it..lol)
$50 for grinder
$10 for linkage materials
$20 Gas looking for a slide hammer to get the body spacers out of the front that where rusted in place :banghead

For the total 3 inch body lift that was gonna be a cheap one till I could afford the 6 inch I ended up spending $370 which is about $80 more then expected and I have yet to build my front skid plate and figure out what to do with the low gas tank. Nothing is ever as a cheap as it seems.. but it looks good and why the hell do we all want to lift them higher after we get them lifted. I am now thinking about a 2 inch susp. lift in the next part of the year.

 

You are correct bronconite...there is always something else that needs to be replaced. False alarm though. I couldnt make the trade/deal I was looking for. When I got there, great guy and all but the rims and tires were not nearly in the shape I thought they were in so I didnt do the deal. I really wasnt looking forward to doing a half ass lift in a hurry anyway. Everything happens for a reason. Thanks anyway for replying guys, take care.

Sweet, I have had Thornbirds in the past and I know most say they are crap. But I loved them and when these LTB's are through, I am going back to them. Looks nice. How about you post some better pics in the post a pic of your Bronco thread for all to see.

 

i have a 1.5 lift on the front and none in the rear im running 33x12.50x15 bfg ats and i think they look too small i would like to run some 35s but what do i do about the clearance. i already have my suspension redone with all new parts and i dont really want to do any more suspension work or mods. also i drive alot of freeway for school and i was wondering if anybody knew the difference in mileage between 33s and 35s ?

 

I got my 3" BL off of ebay from Summit Racing for $70 complete with steering extension, front bumper brackets and shroud relocation brackets.

 

does anyone sell a complete 2in body lift with everything you need to to a bl ?front and rear brackets

The tires get mounted this weekend due to my work schedule and no one is open. When they get mounted I will post pics. Unless you refering to someone else and not me..lol I did for my purpose make a basic write up to all the crap I found issues with and such with pics. Doubt there is a need for a body lift tech write up though, probably already one.

 

The front bumper has not been lifted yet cause I am waiting for my skid plate and my gap guards I am building currently.
