I was thinking about that too... But, will 15" wheels fit over a disk brake conversion??? I hate my rear drum brakes, so I'm getting disks no matter what route I choose.

 

No, they won't. Or you'll need 15" wheels with little backspacing so they sit outboard of the rotors/calipers.

 

Do you get Petersen's or Off Road? One of them just recently had exactly what you are talkin about. It was disk brakes, and anything would clear with the right backspacing or spacers I imagine.

Probably pricey being aluminum, but the pic shows the rotor/caliper being quite far behind the face of the hub. Looks like anything would clear.

you can sell your 15" stuff for more now so there isnt such a dent in your funds when you get new wheels/tires

 

I was under the impression that you could fit a 15" rim with caliper shaving? :shrug I.E. The eaton wide rims they sell?

 

just cut an inch off the inside of the tire and mount them on a 16" wheel

After I posted the question, I did a bit of searching, and I was also under the impression that 15" wheels will fit.

I really need to know this for sure... Since I think I'm going to buy a 14 bolt this upcoming weekend. But, if I do, I'll also have to buy new 8 lug wheels, as well as 5.13 gears. If my idea won't work, then I have to use that money to fix the 9".
