My 79 with C6 has twice in a row after driving it, blown out the o-ring and dipstick tube. It does this several days after it was shut-off, parked and never started again. This last time, a full week after I drove it home from the mechanic who replaced the o-ring and reseated the tube, I was in the shed and there was no transmission fluid on the floor and then I walk into the shop another three days later and see a river of transmission fluid coming from the Bronco. Checked it and sure enough, it had blown the o-ring and tube out again.
Has anyone seen this problem before? Could this be a pressure problem due to maybe the transmission vent being plugged, that then just takes a lot of time to gradually push out the tube because it is the weakest point to relieve pressure? I also live in Iowa where we have been getting large temperature swings.
Thanks for any help/suggestions!
