I know mine is bad because I can smell gas in the vacuum line. The problem im having is how do I get the old one off? It doesnt have bolts it has little black plastic things with no kind of head or anything on them. Do I just punch them out?

Allen screws underneath. You might want to remove the fuel rail for easier access and possibly even service fuel injectors while you can access them. Be careful with gas and pressure.

Pre-Service Procedures

Disconnect the battery ground cable.

Remove the fuel cap to relieve pressure.

Release pressure from the fuel rail/system by operating the fuel rail schrader valve (test port).

Personally, I would also activate the Inertia Fuel Switch for safety as well.

Use caution when venting pressurized fuel spray (hold a rag over the valve).

Fuel Pressure Regulator Replacement

Remove the vacuum line at the pressure regulator.

Remove the three allen screws from the housing.

Remove the regulator, gasket and o-ring.

Use a new gasket and inspect o-ring before reusing.

Lubricate the o-ring with light oil (never use silicone grease as it may clog the injectors).

Ensure the gasket surfaces are clean.

Install a gasket and o-ring on the new pressure regulator.

Install the new pressure regulator on the fuel rail, tightening the allen screws to 3-4.5 Nm (27-40 in-lb).

Reinstall the vacuum line to regulator.

Post-Service Procedures

Reinstall the gas cap.

Reconnect the battery ground.

Turn the ignition switch on/off several times without starting to prime and check for leaks.

Fuel pressure should be about 40 psi.

Start the engine and warm to operating temperature.

Perform an EEC Self Test to check for systems function.
