Hello ladies and gents! Im honored to be a part of this competition this is a first time for me, I was hoping to have my truck a little more intense before I ran but here goes nothing!

My names is Nick, I am 21 years old this is my 4th bronco and I've had over ten obs fseries in between. I finally decided I wanted to build a keeper that I will have for many years and hopefully one day strap my kids into. Mostly for offroad but will be trying to keep it relatively street friendly.

The day I bought her for $300 with a blown transmission. She was going to scrap and I decided to buy her and part it out so some people will get use out of it. As soon as I loaded it onto my trailer I knew I was keeping it:

and heres the most recent pictures:

Im going to try to post my entire build on here and somewhere mid month do some new mods and some wheeling. Good luck to the other contestants and thank you Joe for nominating me!

okay lets power house this build!

here is the internals of the transmission, I was barely able to reuse the casing but got her done and in the truck

I pulled off the bumpers and started cutting the rear quarters, I also wire wheeled and undercoated the entire truck. Back then I was still trying to find a sense of direction and was mostly fooling around.

I started mocking up light bar and winch mounts neither of these I ended up running with but heres a picture anyway

Purchased a visor for $10 and painted her up

A friend of mine needed my stock tires so then some how I ended up stock height on 36s, looked badass but wasnt practical. Im pretty sure I only drove the truck looking like this twice.

so thats how I ended up purchasing my 6" rough country lift(I know, I know dont worry eventually I come to my senses)

The visor found itself on the truck at some point and we started the lift, it ended up being split into two days when I realized I needed new shackles and hangers

Half way lifted!

couldnt tell you why, but I guess doing most of my work past midnight resulted in my loosing my rear axle shims, which I didnt end up replacing till WAY later.

Anyways on with the rest of my first lift:

we call this photo "Three morons at 3am"

My 6" roughcountry lift on stock axles was done:

I pulled the top off for the first time in this trucks life

pulled the plastics out and started painting this "rollbar" I ended up not running this bar because I wanted something more serious, but the pictures are still cool

and the following few days I rebuilt my ifs

I had to make my own hub nut tool for the 95-96

everything was smoked

and back on her feet again. lifted, rebuilt trans, rebuilt ifs and I thought ready to rumble....

I started wiring up some accessories, starting with dual electric fans out of an LT1 camaro

got some switches and an aux fuse box

I also welded up some real light bar mounts

and then the bought the donor truck for my solid axle swap... sterling 10.25 and a 44HD from another member

and here we go

SOLID AXLE TIME WOOO. Slight backstory I had no time to get my sas done and was waiting on it for months. Finally I decided my slowest time at the shop was between christmas and new years, so the front end came out christmas eve and the solid axle was installed and the truck drove out christmas day way into the night. I spent a lot of time with my family and then drove 25 min away to get her done when everyone went to sleep.

going to my new shop

in the shop

sterling 10.25 in

standard ifs removal picture

no buckets

I ran into a sick deal of like new 39.5x13.5x16.5 radials Iroks on 8 lug aluminum wheels and I pulled the money together to pick them up

there are no words for how excited I was to see my truck actually looking like a truck, it was almost driveable my pinion angle was really bad, and the rear squated and had giant lift blocks to match the front, so I solved it all at once with some Sky manufactoring shackle flips and stock shims

much less squat

much better pinion angle

random photo op with Silentone

My trans crossmember was pretty hacked up after the SAS so heres the build of the new one:

old:

and heres to some sweet poser pictures as I started my maiden voyage/test driving:

drove to the autoparts store with 2 lugs per wheel and installed new ones

as you can tell I sold the lightbar, I felt it didnt fit this build and was too modern

FLEX IT OUTTT

okay build specs:

dana 44hd
James duff Radius arms
Duff Upper Coil mount
Duff Lower mounts with retainer
Deaver coils(the bigger one for 79, i believe its 7" or something)
duff radius arm bushing 7*
f350 steering
duff track bar and mount
duff dual shock mount and shocks

sterling 10.25
roughcountry 4" leaf springs
sky 4.5" shack flip
roughcountry shocks for now

I bought this gem from Baldkrs but I got it with his frame rails still attached and welded together. So my plan was to get them off and make mounts so that I can bolt the bumper on and off incase of motor swaps or anything else.

plasma cut old frame off

some paint and let the fun begin

some foglights I had

and now my winch was really cool because a long time customer knew I needed one for my truck and he won a warn zeon 1500$ winch in a raffle and the first thing he did was call me and tell me I have to buy his winch for dirt cheep so that one of his parts would be on my bronco so here it is. Then it was sitting in the back of my pickup after I ran all my errands that day and my girlfriend knew I wouldnt be able to sleep until it was installed so she insisted we go to the shop at midnight and get her done

good friend of mine suprised me with this once he saw pictures:

Repaired some rust and por15'd my entire interior for easy cleaning

some leds in my cluster to match my switches

some trim on my quarters

got me a new tailgate

me winching my parts bronco on, I thought it was a cool picture

bought me four spares because they were two hundred dollars and why not

random photo op

TO THE DIRT

late at night got me good and stuck with some 4wd issues, winch and bumper worked like a charm. Hooked me to a tree and was out in no time. I am so happy with the way this truck turned out and what Iv learned building it. I am going to be upgrading this truck for many years to come and I cant wait for further journeys. Check that smile on my face, even though I was stuck and broken.

Hold your votes ladies and gentleman we are not done till the months over, and mother nature willing I will have some great stuff for you guys this weekend if it snows. In the mean time I had to get some stuff on the rig done today.

At the bronco meet I closed my door and my mirror glass fell off and shattered, but thats okay because they were the weird turn signal mirrors and we burnt out and unusable.

because my truck is a 96 and nothing is ever a direct swap I have to solder a new plug on

after an incident with a mud pit, I also had to put my front shaft back in and get her ready for snow!

Having me some fun in the snow. I hope you know the only reason the below pictures happened because I felt obligated to do something awesome to close out this wonderful month and competition!

Started my day off with some everyday normal bronco hood snow angels

my brother was taking photos and it turned into a pretty cool photo op

I believe we got 20" or so

so I tried to crawl over a snow mound and high centered myself good

got my ass pulled out by my buddy who was very excited to be the first to tug the bronco out of a stuck situation and he was a dumb dumb and hooked the bubba rope poorly and it snapped back and dented my tailgate. after a re adjust we were good to go, hey shit happens. need me a damn re bumper and tire carrier

and then it was time to stop fooling around and get to business

All and all she landed like a champ and drove out. This competition has been so much fun and it has been a honor running. Rock on guys
