...but I've put significantly more than that on mine. Probably the most was about 350lbs of treated lumber, but a lot of that was directly on the roof runners UNDER the crossbars. I've put ~150 lbs of steel studs on the runners.

It depends on how you strap it, and how you drive. Find some gunwale clamps that will grab the drip rails over the doors and tie the front of the canoe to them so it can't sway or come up, and you should be OK at highway speed. If you also tie the back to the truck body (like with clips behind the taillights or under the camper shell), it'll never go anywhere.

If you attach to it properly, the fiberglass is a LOT stronger than that skeleton rack. But ModIt is right - you can't put anything between the camper & the body without filling in ALL THE WAY AROUND.
...and then the rear window might not align with the groove in the back.
If you want a rack that doesn't rest on the camper, mount it to the bumpers so it doesn't touch the body at all, and make it an exo-cage. With a little creativity, you could make it easily-removeable." by Steve
