Oh yeah, that's no problem. I was just making sure I had the idea strait. I'm leaning toward rebuilding the TTB, since it's fairly rare that I thake my bronco off-road for the purpose of just off-roading, but I wasn't throwing the idea of a strait axle out entirely since my bronco is no longer my DD.

If you want a pre made one search for a f-250 or F-350 shackle reversal kit. I think that ORU.com and sky mfg. make them. Let us know what you find please.

The sky off road one won't work as it comes. It's made to bolt into the factory shackle hanger, witch a bronco doesn't have. The off road unlimited one goes on the outside of the frame rails, so it may work. They want like $460 for there whole swap kit. It would way cheaper to make your own, plus it would fit your rig perfectly.

Yeah thats why I never bought one. But thats the only cross member that I have been able to find. I am pretty sure that I am just going to build one.

not sure if this is the right place to ask this but I have been trying to get my act together to start a sas for a while now and a strange deal just feel into my hands a early 90's f 250 with a solid front and I was just thinking since this truck is missing its body pretty much what about building up the frame and all to put my 83 bronco body on? I have done body swaps on jeeps (god i hate jeeps) but I was thinking it would be nice to work on the frame without the body on it. any links or suggestions would be greatly apreciated.

Ah.. So it was a "before/after" type pic describing the differences..

That's a little more comforting. :thumbup

it looks like the ttb steering up top, and the solid axle linkage down bottom, and the right side looks attached. its like a cobweb of steering. :histerica :doh0715:

good question was wondering the same thing. decided to go with a origional coil sas and make it leaf, know Igot to cut weld etc. but will the stearing work
so your using a solid 44 that was coil and making it leaf, right? your gonna need to grind off the wedges (provided the axle is from pre-78, otherwise the tubes are pressed into the wedges and they cant be taken off) and weld on new spring perches. you need to use the steering from the solid axle but it bolts right up.

alot of guys use DOM and tap it to accept 1 ton chevy tre's to go knuckle under and for the added strength.

hope this helps :beer

Ok. So I have read through this whole thread and didn't really see what I was looking for. Has anyone used a "non junkyard" new leaf packs, that didn't have to have leafs tuned or removed? Essentially, I am looking for what would equal 8" of lift on a TTB setup. I saw project86 was running 38's but needed a body lift and some massaging to not rub.
