I know it’s bad but I need to know if it’s going to be a major problem in the next week

I knew It was spilling out of the weep hole of the water pump like a month ago had to pick up a light trailer had no problems until pulling it back my trans went out so it was sitting in a shop for about a week and half then the company went mia on me even forgetting parts and a receipt -$4000 + “3 year warranty”
Ran it for like 3-4 miles to get it to work from the shop not thinking it might not have any fluid in it at all! After work filled it full of tap, haven’t seen a leak from it so stupid me figured they might have seen it leaking a fixed something about it. 3 days later had to go to another shop for it to sit for a month getting nothing done because they didn’t have a tool.
Then yesterday thought to check the fluid and filled it up about half gallon of more tap, ran it and out it comes brown!!

and it’s coming out a lot.
Hope it’s fine enough and I’ll put more water in it before I run it to work (1 mile)
In the morning or if you say otherwise tonight, any questions ask away!

So it was run 3-4 miles with no coolant in it?

And now it leaks out the weep hole pretty good? I presume this is just at cold idle?

I would expect the pressure on the seal to go up a bit as speed increases, but not a ton as the impeller would be classified as open and the seal area should generally communicate with the suction pressure. Pressure on the seal will go up as coolant temp goes up, and that will likely cause the leak to get worse, but if you only have a mile you probably won’t be at full temp.

Probably low risk, especially if you plan on replacing water pump very soon.

Im surprised it hasn’t given you more fits of the 3-4 mile dry run is correct. Within 30 idle seconds my recently rebuilt engine (no coolant) has manifolds hot enough to start smoking assembly lube. I’ve not run it any longer than that.

It has leaked out fairly before the trip but this is the most I have seen it leak. I would say about half as fast so it’s gotten worst. I did run it to pick an pull (~6 miles highway speed) no problem haven’t checked fluids. I’m more concerned about the color. Should I try to flush it out???
