Hey all, I have a lead on a complete gray interior still in a 94 bronco for about $200 if I remove it myself. Are there any special tricks or tools needed to remove everything from inside the truck? I know I'll need big Torx bits for the seatbelts, but what else do I need to know before I go so I don't have to make several trips to the store. Is there any sequence that I need to follow in removing the dash so I don't break anything? What's involved in removing the headliner from the fiberglass top? Thanks.

A phillips screwdriver
A sharpie pen
Lots of zip lock bags
A metric ratchet set never hurts
Bunch of them plastic push rivets (usually wrecks when you remove them)
Breaker Bar helps for the stubborn bolts
I like to have a little pick or something small to line up holes when assembling too.
as well as other various tools that assist you most are basic.

Thats all I can think of... just got done reassembling my 86 bronco... and have done a couple of my buddies 89 fords so I have some decent practice. Label the baggies and throw the screws makes putting stuff back together faster and you know where everything goes then. Not to sure on the dash myself in the midst of tearing mine apart to fix the mode door for the vent system. Any questions be sure to ask and ill help to the best of my knowledge.

Also, on the note cause I know I always get this... is search search search... there is endless posts on all sorts of this stuff. :)

Happy tearing apart :p

headliner...remove the trim panels first, (the long metal piece at the top of the windshield, the a pillar trim panels, and the b pillar panels) remove the sunvisors and the clips, then take the lens out of the maplight and remove the 3 screws holding it in. The headliner may have a small amount of adhesive in the corners holding it in. be careful at removing the adhesive so that you don't crease the headliner. but thats it. you will only need a phillips screwdriver and a t50 for the seat belts to remove the headliner.

dashboard...a little more difficult. remove the glovebox and all of the lose trim pieces that you can without much effort (the lower a pillar trim, the knee bolster under the steering wheel). you will probably need to lower the steering column to take the dash out. it should be 4 bolts and then the column will lay on the floor of the truck all of the rest should be an 8, 10, or 12mm socket to remove the dash. there should be a few bolts along the windshield line, a couple on each side, and there should be some behind the radio bezel (the radio bezel just pulls out)

I think Steve83 had something on his Supermotors page for dash removal and installation. Unfortunately I can't get supermotors to open right now to confirm, but it's worth a look if you can get it to work.

Be extremely when removing interior parts, Ford seems to have used cheap brittle plastic on 1992-96 F-Series and Bronco's. I had to epoxy a lot stuff when I recently had the interior apart in my '94.

DEFINITELY DEFINITELY get one of the panel removal tools that you see in this photo, the one with the fork and that's bent at the end. Get all of those little xmas tree fasteners that you can, and the screws as well.

Good luck, I'm jealous!

when I did mine, I used a my drill with a 1/4" adaptor to zip a lot of the smaller nuts off. If I recall correctly you need to unbolt the e brake assy and the aluminum steering column support too. The hardest bolts to get at are the 2 on the sides of the column just inward of the door jam. The right side I was able to remove all the others first so the dash was floating and I just pried it out a bit to get at them. The left I think I slowly worked with a wrench, and was such a hassle that one of them didnt make it back in.

Just take your time, once you think you have all the bolts removed.....you will still have at least 6-8 more in there. When I needed to get the dash harness out of my donor I want to say it took me about 3 hours to get everything out. The next day I had the dash out of the Bronco, the harness swapped, and then back into the Bronco in 3 hours.
