Used that same carpet kit when I had my '79, screwed up cutting around the shifters, had to glue a piece back in.

Looking good, thought.

I hope you cleaned the paint off those tires.

That would be nice if they have a fullsize category, looks like we will have a good amount this year.

Can you tweak that fuel line over and inch or so and maybe drill a new hole for the hold down clamp so its farther away from the header as well. Might need to grind a little bit of the frame for header clearance.

Get one of those pinstripe removal eraser pads, it will take the rest off and won't hurt the paint.

They don't harm the paint, but you have some old paint, so not sure if that would have any effect on it.

Looks good Rick.

But, those welds on the radius arm mounts look horrible and I would not trust them. I would drill some holes and put some bolts in or have someone reweld that or both.

They are ugly for sure but there are three beads there. I'll keep an eye on them and as stated above will be adding some bracing to tie them together.

I am by no means a welding expert, but those weld look cold and look like they are just sitting on top of each other with no penetration. A quote a one read "welders are not hot glue guns" and that sure looks like the hot glue gun method. I'd hate to see these fail as the worst moment or any money for that matter.

Looks good Rick. So you had just one shock in front of the coil and now just one behind the coil correct. How come you didn't raise the upper shock mount to run a shock with more travel.

How much travel do the shocks have. A lot of people set it up to have more down travel than up.

If I place it where the stock rear was I will have 7" down and 5" up.

Those are good numbers, just add bump stops so you don't bottom out the shocks.

Just saw a good tip for checking shock travel. Put a zip tie around the shaft and against the body and flex it out, the zip tie will stay and show you how much travel you are using.

I loved that top when i had my 79, i could put it up in like a minute. Looks like you need to adjust the tension on it.
