They are ugly for sure but there are three beads there. I'll keep an eye on them and as stated above will be adding some bracing to tie them together.

I am by no means a welding expert, but those weld look cold and look like they are just sitting on top of each other with no penetration. A quote a one read "welders are not hot glue guns" and that sure looks like the hot glue gun method. I'd hate to see these fail as the worst moment or any money for that matter.

Those are good numbers, just add bump stops so you don't bottom out the shocks.

Just saw a good tip for checking shock travel. Put a zip tie around the shaft and against the body and flex it out, the zip tie will stay and show you how much travel you are using.
