Finished this 1979 restoration a couple of months ago - just a couple small things left to do including installing the refurbished hitch. 460 built engine and 4.11 Traction-Lok Rear Axle. I owned a 79 Bronco in the late 80's that I sold for the down payment on my first house and have regretted it ever since. Have always said the 79 Bronco was my favorite vehicle that I have ever owned and that includes owning a 2017 and 2010 Raptor. I spared no expense on this one.

WOW! That looks incredible.

What rims are those?
They are 17x9 Ion wheels. They weren't really what I wanted but my choices were very slim for the 5x5.5 bolt pattern with the correct, and rare, bore for the 79 Bronco. I really wanted the 1980's style turbine aluminum wheels (I had them on my 84 F150 in the 80's) in 17" so that dates me :). The tires are Dick Cepek Trail Country which I like.

I used to really NOT like these bronco's (and the trucks of this era) but lately i have been coming around, Broncs like this are the reason why! That is one really sharp looking rig, you should be very proud...and welcome to the forum! I'm sure I'm not the only one here who would like to see more pics and maybe a few "before" pics.

Here are some before pics ... it had been repainted from original colors, which were the medium blue glow where shown and light sand where the dark blue is in pics, likely in 1993 when the previous owners purchased it. I'm guessing that is also when the 460 engine swap was done. I had it stripped it to bare metal first so that we knew what was underneath the old paint.

I did completely redo the interior - all new correct color paint including dash, Dakota Digital RTX guage cluster, Retrosound LongBeach Radio with bluetooth and SiriusXM, dashpad, dash trim bezels, new premium carpet kit, reupholstered seats, headliner, sun visors, and rear quarter side panels over new hard-board cut-outs. I installed LMC 3-in-1 insulation under all of the carpet, inside doors and tailgate, and on inside of rear quarters. Also, all new glass except on topper sides which I couldn't find - these have acid rain etching which I am going to polish on this summer with a glass-cutting polish. I kept the original interior door panels because they were in great shape with just some fading. All new rubber seals on windows and doors.

I bought the Bronco a year ago out of Washington state and the body was perfect just as it rolled off the factory line (inside of all body panels super clean) except for the tailgate bottom and less than 2 inches above the windshield where an exterior visor had been installed and leaked.

I have more than 10x the money in this Bronco than the price I sold my previous 79 Bronco for in 1990. That is a shame but I thank God for the ability to finally get one back and do it right!

Just painted the top - the sliding windows in it were good other than some acid rain etching and the tint application took care of that. There is no antenna at all on the truck - I deleted the original antenna (welded in the cowl hole for antenna) because I put in a Sirius XM radio and I wanted a clean and modern look that many people miss noticing.
