I am quite happy with the 5165's and their valving. I have had them on the beach and they performed well on the rumble strips and smaller whoops. I have not tried any elevating type jumps. I need to get my superduty shock mounts on the front and relocate the rear like CrazyBroncoGuy did to his. Before I really test them out.

As for the loss of steering I mention in and earlier post. That has been eliminated. I have topped off the fluid a couple more times because it was low. Seems to have been the problem.

While I haven't done much lately to the ole girl. I have received a few packages for her. I'll find the time sooner but probably later to at least get a photo of whats coming. Baseball/Softball with three kids don't allow much time for dad to work on his stuff.

I'm glad to hear you like the shocks. Mine will be here today! Same valving. I will be sure to put them through their paces here in the next month or so. Now I just hope My 5125's in the rear will keep up with the Deaver leaf springs I am putting in.

but it's on back order Till July...... sucks :banghead
It's the only Bronco I've owned that I could lock the tires up.

As you can see above I went with a fuel injection setup for this Bronco. The carb was starting to show it's age (8 years old) and was looking like a rebuild was in order. I'd grown tired of the pumping and starting more so in the winter months but also in the summer. I got an email from LMC Truck about a new product they were selling. Looked it over with no real interest at first but the features reeled me in. Look at what other companies were selling and this one was the best priced, easiest to install and easiest to control so I went with it. It's the FItech Go efi 4 600hp package with the fuel command center.

I wanted the black model but it wasn't in stock but on back order.

command center on the far left. The stock pump supplies it with fuel and the the hp pump pulls from there to supply the throttle body with fuel.
Image

O2 sensor the computer uses to determine air/fuel ratios.

vent hose from command center to fuel tank.
Image

Biggest and most difficult mod was the air cleaner. Yeah
Image

The tall dizzy wouldn't allow it to sit flush on the throttle body. Had to figure out a way to raise it enough but not too much.

Anybody guess what that is tacked to the air cleaner?

It takes about 500 miles for the system to learn the engine. I've got 75 miles on it as of now. I had a battery and starter issue. Both crapped out on me so I had to get those swapped out. A new red top supplies the power now. I went ahead and covered the starter since it bakes under those headers.

needed a trim

nice sharp fabric scissors

taped up nice and tight now to get the supplied bands on

Next up? Well while swapping out the starter I noticed the rear axle seal is shot and leaking. So I'll be replacing that and since I have to go in deep to do so. I'm going to take the limited slip out and replace it with a spool. I can't have one wheel turning on this thing in the sand or on the trail.

Be interested to hear what you have to say about the tbi setup once you have ran it a bit. The spool is a good choice, I drive mine on the street a lot and yes you will notice it but its not all that bad. Everything I have read online about them being bad on the street, I just do not experience with it in my 78. The only thing it does is make its presence known when making sharp turns and it has to spin one tire. I will never go back to anything else, especially for the money. I think it makes the 9" stronger too.

Did you use a dog food dish to make that adapter? Good idea if yes as most of them are stainless so should never have to make another.

Very nice!

Can I ask what you think you've invested in the TBI and related necessities?

I'm looking forward to the 500 mile mark. It is still learning for sure. I don't know how well the video picked up the sounds but when we first ran it you could really hear the thing pulling the air. The idle would go up and down. I'll have to get a pic of the handheld that displays the important info for the system. It's pretty neat. I'm with you on the spool price, $114 is dirt cheap compared to $550 for a detroit or grizzly. I'm going to hold off on the item used on the air cleaner see if someone figures it out. It's not a dog food bowl.

I've got $1300 invested in the system. All you need comes in the box. Only thing that was purchased outside it was the bung for he O2 sensor which was .99. We didn't like the plate that they supplied for the O2 sensor.

Forgot to mention earlier had a problem or slow down with the kick down for the tranny. The lever that is stock didn't or doesn't mount up to the throttle body. FItech does not have that figured out which kinda pissed me off. I called them and asked them if I need anything else to make this work? If it would go on with everything I have on there now with a description. "They said sure will". Kick down did not as I said. A muffler hanger was used to connect the two. It seems to work good but looks a bit ghetto. I'm looking at the Lokar setup for the kick down problem. It seems to simplify the transition and looks way better than the muffler hanger and the stock tubing. We shall see.

i looked at the fitech, but they were back ordered at summit, so i went back to a carb, i would like to see updateds on it's progress as i am sure others will also. I see holley just came out with a similar system.
thanks

Yeah Bob it was back ordered just about everywhere. Good thing about LMC they let you know online real time if they have it or not. From what I understand they recalled the fuel command center and updated the hp pump. That was the delay or back order. I'll keep you updated on how it's doing for sure.

As for the spacer on the air cleaner @deathmobile2 and @Sloride75 are correct. It's a center cap for a 3/4 truck.
