okay lets power house this build!

here is the internals of the transmission, I was barely able to reuse the casing but got her done and in the truck





I pulled off the bumpers and started cutting the rear quarters, I also wire wheeled and undercoated the entire truck. Back then I was still trying to find a sense of direction and was mostly fooling around.











I started mocking up light bar and winch mounts neither of these I ended up running with but heres a picture anyway



Purchased a visor for $10 and painted her up

A friend of mine needed my stock tires so then some how I ended up stock height on 36s, looked badass but wasnt practical. Im pretty sure I only drove the truck looking like this twice.



so thats how I ended up purchasing my 6" rough country lift(I know, I know dont worry eventually I come to my senses)



The visor found itself on the truck at some point and we started the lift, it ended up being split into two days when I realized I needed new shackles and hangers











Half way lifted!





couldnt tell you why, but I guess doing most of my work past midnight resulted in my loosing my rear axle shims, which I didnt end up replacing till WAY later.

Anyways on with the rest of my first lift:

I pulled the top off for the first time in this trucks life





pulled the plastics out and started painting this "rollbar" I ended up not running this bar because I wanted something more serious, but the pictures are still cool









and the following few days I rebuilt my ifs




I had to make my own hub nut tool for the 95-96





everything was smoked



and back on her feet again. lifted, rebuilt trans, rebuilt ifs and I thought ready to rumble....

The wheels on Filly when I purchased it were a bit modern imo.

So I started looking for a good tire I could wrap around my favorite wheels. Found some, 35/1250/15 mickey claws with 80% tread but a little dry rot (stay tuned). I picked them and the wagons they were on for $600.

Mounted and wheels scuffed for paint.

I used duplicolor textured with clear coat to finish it off. Then I took the fins back down to bare metal.

From there I moved to the interior. I wanted some carpet to keep out some heat and some noise.

At 6' tall I don't need the booster blocks under the seats.
Pulled the back seat and then the carpet in the rear. Still had the overlay in the rear.

Rollbar got cleaned and painted since it had to come out also.

New carpet going in.

I got a little carried away with the knife. :banghead

And a little help from the pit crew on re installing the roll bar.

Found this while pulling out the roll bar.

Loaded up to go to the Round Up.

Just thought I'd show off these. I have been searching EVERYWHERE to find a donor truck for the gaskets and I've called just about glass shop within 100 miles of me. If anybody wants to help a FOTM contestant out... that would be great! haha

I started wiring up some accessories, starting with dual electric fans out of an LT1 camaro







got some switches and an aux fuse box















I also welded up some real light bar mounts









and then the bought the donor truck for my solid axle swap... sterling 10.25 and a 44HD from another member





and here we go

Alright here are my sliders. I am going to do the outer tube soon but for now they protect the rockers and I can jack up off of them.

And here is just a cool picture I found of the rear end of the rig when I had to borrow a friends garage to take cover from a rainstorm when the top was off. (gives you a good idea of the ground clearance:thumbup)

Alright finally some trail shots! With me going to school in Colorado and my dad back in California, we do not get a lot of chances to wheel together. This past summer we did Miller Jeep Trail in Lockwood, CA. It is one of the more difficult trails around and I did not have to try an obstacle twice.

Here is a shot of my Dad completely ruining one of his wheels. We were about 1 mile from the top of the trail and the last 2 miles are supposed to be the most difficult. It began to rain and it was getting dark. He really pushed it to the top.:histerica (lets just say that a few guys that were camped at the top with $50,000 Jeeps said that they could not believe that a stock ramcharger made it up)

Before the rebuild started I wheeled the hell out of the Bronco, most of the trips I didn't get pics of.

This was a trail clean up project, we got about 30 rigs out that day, what a good time

This is a trail network called The Snakes, it was a very popular system. You could drive trails for days up there.

Here's a video of when we did Miller Jeep Trail. You guys can watch other youtube videos of the trail to get an idea how technical the hard parts are and how our trucks handled it. Overall, it was a fun trail.

0:30-1:05 and 2:27-2:38 are just the Bronco. You guys can get an idea of what my 300 sounds like:thumbup (efi exhaust manifolds to a single 2.5 pipe with a Flowmaster Super 44 muffler that dumps behind the rear tire)

You guys gotta know... as a less than "mechanical" kinda guy, I love FOTM.
I get to learn so much and really enjoy the shots of the Bronco's being used or just looking so damn good.

I'll never understand why we don't get more votes on these things. There's just so much "WIN" to be seen here.
Folks really don't know what they're missing out on.

Thanks for the words Pepe, you are one of the biggest enthusiasts of this competition, thanks for helping to keep it alive man.

Now back to the goods!

Went out on one last trip before the tear down began, had a nice little dusting of snow, that made things interesting

Going up a hill with walls on both sides I got a little sideways and broke the adjustable track bar

This was before I decided to do a full resto so I fabbed a drop frame mount, the angles sucked anyhow!

About a month later the tear down began! Originally it was going to be a Bronco body on a 99 Superduty chassis but that fell through

Well this was not to be so I went down a different road.
The beginning stages of the resto were lots of fun lol

Back on the rack for some gears. Judi packaged in some 4.10's in the selling price. So I took the opportunity to learn how to install my own gears. Not to hard now that I've done it.

New gears in

The rear has an Aussie limited slip that Bill (bmc69) had lighter springs put in. After wheeling it a few times that will be coming out and a locker will be going in. A limited slip just ain't enough.

I was going to say I was surprised you didn't take the opportunity to throw a locker in while you had it apart.
Now that I am running trails with mine (something I did not think I would be doing lol) I am considering taking out my LSD.
Although it did perform very well last weekend so I will take it out a few more time before deciding.
